Autumn is here and Winter fashion is just around the corner. Although I am still not ready to say goodbye to summer, this year’s Melbourne Fashion Festival has gotten me excited to rug up! Just when you thought the creativity of our favourite Australian designers could not possibly be topped from the last season, they continually prove us wrong. This year’s VAMFF was no exception. The AW16 collections that will be dropped over the coming months, if they haven’t already, are just stunning!
Deep Green Colours
There are many designers releasing piece in various shades of dark green. From Emerald to Khaki, green won’t merely be a complimentary colour but rather the hero pieces this winter. I love the pantsuits, coats, dresses from the follow designers that were showcased at VAMFF.

Burgundy Tones
Get some burgundy into your wardrobe this season as this colour was certainly on show at Melbourne Fashion Festival. This deep colour is perfect for the colder months as we stir away from the summer brights. Wear it as the sole colour of the outfit or a nice accent. Here are some of my favourites from VAMFF.

Monochrome
This staple trend is always a runway favourite. We saw some killer monochrome outfits that were quickly coveted by everyone in the room as soon as they hit the runway. It was hard to narrow them down, but here are some of my favourite monochrome outfits from VAMFF.

Lace
Spotted as a trend at MSFW, this theme is here to stay. This season the long sleeve lace has shown to be quite popular across all the brands at VAMFF, and will certainly be this season’s go to for winter nights out.

Military Style
This style was a strong trend in Europe’s Winter, and is making its way to the Australian market. A military jacket for work or drinks teamed up with a pair of textured pants is a combo I am keen to get my hands on for the Winter months.

Pastels
The pale pinks that we all saw come through Spring last year have now been transposed to this new season with long sleeves and furs.

Furs
The luxe style makes its way this season via faux furs. Furs will be available in the season’s colours and in both scarf and jacket form. There is no excuse to blend in this Winter with a statement piece like fur.

Spicy Reds
Nothing is more eye-catching than a nice hot red. From a pop of red on your lips to a bright red dress. This season, don’t go for the safe black option, stand out and go red.

It was a very busy but fun week! Time for some online shopping 😉
